On October 27, the 2023 "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in Soft Science" was released, in which BJTU’s subject of transportation engineering ranked first in the world for the fifth time.

A total of 15 subjects of BJTU are on the list, among which transportation engineering, communication engineering, and civil engineering are among the global top 50, and instrument science, mechanical engineering, and power electronics engineering are among the global top 100.

The "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in Soft Science" applies a series of internationally comparable objective academic indicators to access the performance of universities around the world in related subjects, including the number of papers in key journals, the impact of paper standardization, the proportion of international cooperation papers, the total number of papers in top journals, and the number of authoritative awards won by teachers.

The "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in Soft Science" cover 55 subjects in five major fields, including science, engineering, life sciences, medicine and social sciences, with more than 5,000 universities around the world as the ranking objects, and more than 1,900 universities from 104 countries and regions are on the list.
