BJTU Attends the International Conference — Innovations for Sustainable Transport Development - Logistics as a Science and a Field of Professional Activity

On April 11th, 2023, the international conference Innovations for Sustainable Transport Development - Logistics as a Science and a Field of Professional Activity was held online. Prof. GUAN Zhongliang, Vice President of BJTU, was invited to attend the conference and to deliver the keynote speech titled Experience-sharing on Logistics Talent Cultivation for the Development of Sustainable Transportation.

Prof. GUAN Zhongliang presented BJTU’s achievements in the field of discipline construction in logistics management and engineering, logistics management talent cultivation, student practice and teaching. He pointed out that BJTU has been actively promoting the coordinated development of logistics education and the logistics industry, strengthening university-enterprise cooperation and logistics talents’ training. By optimizing the curriculum system, deepening student practice and teaching innovation, the university has made positive contribution to the cultivation of logistics talents with extensive knowledge, practical ability, and innovative mindset both home and abroad. In the future, BJTU will continue to communicate and cooperate closely with universities and research institutions worldwide for joint research in sustainable transportation and thus contribute to global transportation’s sustainable development.

The international conference mainly focused on the discipline of logistics and the cultivation of transportation talents. The guests exchanged opinions on the main logistics tasks in combined transportation and the industry’s needs for international transportation talents. The International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT), Russian University of Transport (MIIT), and Association of Transport Universities co-organized the meeting. Nearly 200 representatives from international organizations, universities and related companies in Eurasia participated in the conference. Representatives from Chinese universities such as Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Union University, and Dalian Jiaotong University attended the event.

LI Xuewei, professor of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University and the Chinese chairman of the Association of Rectors of Transport Universities of Russia and China also attended the conference accompanied by colleagues from BJTU’s Office of International Affairs.
