Opening Ceremony of Seminar on High Speed Railway Construction for Thailand 2014 Held at BJTU

On the afternoon of 10 June, the Opening Ceremony of Seminar on High Speed Railway Construction for Thailand 2014 (2nd Session), hosted by Ministry of Commerce and supported by BJTU was held at Multi-functional Hall, Hongguoyuan Hotel. Mr. LI Jianwen, Co- Leader of China-Thailand Railway Group of China Railway Corporation, Vice President LIU Jun of BJTU and 20 trainees from Thailand attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. DONG Hairong, Deputy Director of Office of International Affairs.

Prof. LIU Jun gave an opening address on behalf of the University. He introduced the connection between the University and railway construction in China, and the efforts made for international collaboration and talents training. He extended the gratitude to Ministry of Commerce and China Railway Corporation for their support to BJTU, and hoped the success of the training seminar would further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between China-Thailand railways.

LI Jianwen shared with participants the traditional friendship between China and Thailand, spoke highly of the capability of BJTU in talents training in railway, as well as gave suggestions for the development of HSR technologies in Thailand.

The representative of Thai participants, Mr. Pulamin Arti expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government. He believes that this seminar will not only make them a better understanding of the development of high-speed rail and related technologies, but also provided them with much-needed knowledge and experience that they will apply to the construction of Thai high speed railways.
Members of China-Thailand Railway Group of China Railway Corporation and directors of related schools and offices also attended the opening ceremony.

This is the forth training task of Thailand hosted by BJTU from 10 -30 June, 2014.The training program includes high-speed rail seminars, high-speed rail site visits, culture visits, and other activities.
