Delegation from Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR), Malaysia, Visited BJTU

On March 15, Vice President GUAN Zhongliang met with the delegation from Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR), Malaysia, led by Academician Prof. ChuahHean Teik, President of UTAR.

Firstly, Vice President GUAN Zhongliang extended welcome to the delegation on behalf of BJTU and introduced the university history, international development, strength discipline and achievements made in the cooperation between BJTU and Malaysian counterparts. He pointed out that Malaysia is an important country along the “Belt and Road”. We have maintained good relationship with Malaysian universities and enterprises. He hoped that both sides would promote future cooperation in student exchange, mutual visits of faculty, collaborative research and training on Rail transit infrastructure and urban planning through this visit.

Prof. ChuahHean Teik expressed gratitude to BJTU for the hospitality and introduced the history and school-running characteristics of UTAR. He also reached cooperation intentions with BJTU on joint cultivation of students, university-enterprise cooperation and collaborative research. He hoped that both universities would start cooperation on the joint establishment of Research Center for Rail Transit Construction as well as student exchange at an early date in order to promote substantive cooperation between the two universities.

           Principals from the School of Architecture and Design, School of Traffic and Transportation, Office of International Affairs and Center for International Education were also present at the meeting.
