On May 17th, Mr. Matthias Ruete, Director-General of theDirectorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) gave a lecture titled “Once Transportation, Always Transportation” in Jiaoda Distinguished Lecture Series. Vice President LIU Jun chaired the lecture and President NING Bin attended the lecture and presented gifts to Mr. Ruete on behalf of Beijing Jiaotong University. Mr. Ruete introduced the history of EU and the important role EU played in the European areas and shared his career development with the audience.

Before the lecture, Mr. Ruete visited the State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety and spoke highly of the achievements the researchers had made. Mr. Ruete and President NING Bin exchanged ideas on the future development of transportation in European countries and in China, and reached consensus on further cooperation.
