During May 27 to June 3, 2013, a delegation of BJTU led by Vice President Zhang Xingchen visited Stony Brook University, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and Valparaiso University (Valpo).
The delegation first visited Stony Brook University (SBU) and held a meeting with Dr. William Arens, Director of the International Office of SBU. The two sides exchanged opinions on the newly-lunched 3+1+1 education mode of undergraduates and signed MoU on future cooperation.
During the visit to New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), Dr. Rahmat Shoureshi, Vice President of NYIT spoke highly of the ongoing cooperation on different levels and expressed his willingness to broaden the coverage. The two sides held deep discussions on the 3+1+1 and 2.5+2 joint education programs of undergraduates.
On May 29, the delegation visited Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and held a meeting with Dr. Alan Cramb, Vice President of IIT. The two sides also discussed the 3+1+1 joint education program and signed a cooperative agreement.
Dr. David L. Rowland, Vice President of Valpo exchanged opinions with the delegation. He recalled the partnership between BJTU and Valpo. Vice President ZHANG and Dr. Mark R. Schwehn, Dean of Studies of the University signed a 2.5+2 collaborative undergraduate education program.
Prof. SI Yintao, Dean of School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education, Prof. LI Yachun, Director of Overseas-studying Service Centre and Ms. ZHAO Rui from the International Office accompanied the visit.
