On August 29, 2013, BJTU&UW NMT (Nano Materials and Technology) joint undergraduate degree program was launched in the Science Conference Hall, in witness of three Vice Presidents of BJTU, Prof. Chen Feng, Prof. ZHANG Xingchen, and Prof. LIU Jun. Dean of School of Science of UW, Terrance McMahon, and all of the students newly enrolled in the Program. Parents of the students and related faculties from Beijing Jiaotong University and University of Waterloo were all invited.

Before the opening ceremony, the Vice President Prof. Chen Feng met with the guests from UW who specially flight to China for this event.

Dean of School of Science of BJTU, Prof. FENG Qibo chaired the opening ceremony. Vice President Prof. ZHANG Xingchen gave a speech on behalf of BJTU to congratulate the launching of this program and emphasize the great importance of the program for both BJTU and UW. Prof. Terrance McMahon spoke on behalf of UW to greet the new students enrolling in the program and express his high expectation of this program.

Prof. HE Zhiqun and WANG Jingqi also delivered speeches as the teachers’ representative and students’ representative respectively.
