In the morning of September 14, 2013, Chairman CAO Guoyong and Vice President Prof. LIU Jun met with the delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand at Conference Room 612, Siyuan Building. The delegation was led by Dr. Chatri Sripaipan and Mr. Nakorn Chantasorn, Advisor to President, National Science and Technology development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand.
Firstly, Chairman CAO extended his warm welcome and cordial regards to the delegation to visit BJTU. He said, China and Thailand had a good neighborly and friendly relationship and a long-lasting cooperative history. In recent years, China-Thailand strategic partnership entered into a new phase of fast development. BJTU attached great importance to the cooperation with Thailand, and was willing to share with Thailand the experiences of the establishment and development of China High-Speed Railway.
Vice President Prof. LIU gave a brief introduction of the university and then made a report on Services Provided by BJTU to the Development of High-Speed Railway in China, introducing achievements and contributions the university made to the development of China High-Speed Railway. Prof. NIE Lei, Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation, gave a report about the development, operation and management of China high-speed railway.
After the meeting, the Thai guests visited the Center for Rail Transport Operational Control System, the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Control and Safety, Structure Strength Test Lab and Slab Track Test Field.
Representatives from Division of Asia and Africa of Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and CSR Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. also attended the meeting.
