Technological Achievements

  • “Communication based train control system (CBTC)” technology industrialization

Train control system is the key technology to ensure train running safety and efficient operation. CBTC is the development trend of train control technology.

In 2004, BJTU led "urban rail transit based on the research and application of CBTC" project, and launched the research and development of communication technologies in CBTC. This project was supported by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of People’s Republic of China, China Railway Corporation, etc. It has cooperation with Beijing Rail Transit Construction Management Co., LTD., Beijing Subway Co., LTD., Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., LTD., etc. BJTU has made significance innovations in the rail traffic signal technologies and completed the fundamental research, experiment, demonstration and industrialization of independent innovation CBTC.

In 2010, China's first complete independent intellectual property CBTC was operated in Beijing Subway Yizhuang Line and Changping Line simultaneously. China is the fourth country (Top 3: Germany, France, Canada) in the world owns the key technologies and techniques of CBTC and has successfully converted technological achievements into productive force. CBTC is the world leading technology in line with the highest international safety class SIL4. In the recent years, the real-world operations prove the CBTC outperforms other train control systems. It has made tremendous contributions in the urban rail transit construction, train running safe and efficient operation. Currently, BJTU is undertaking CBTC projects of Beijing Subway Line 14 and Line 7.

  • “Urban rail transit energy-fed power supply and traction equipment development and engineering application demonstration” project

This project develops and studies the key technologies and techniques of energy-fed power supply and traction equipment and demonstrates the engineering applications.

(1)     Research on the key techniques and technologies of energy-fed power supply equipment.

(2)    Research on the optimization techniques of the train traction drive systems

(3)    Research on the optimization technologies and techniques of energy-fed power supply and energy-saving of train traction drive system

(4)    Demonstration application of energy-fed power supply and traction equipment

 

BJTU has cooperated with Beijing Qiansiyu Electric Co., Ltd, designed and manufactured MTC-760/1500 subway traction converter. The experiments have been carried out in Guangzhou subway Line 1. The designed 100% low-floor vehicle traction and auxiliary converter have been operated and debugged in Changchun Light Rail Transit (LRT). The designed and manufactured linear motor traction converters have been tested in the novel linear motor transportation system. The designed urban rail traffic emergency ventilation power has produced thousands of units and has been widely used.

  • "Identification network system" project received “The 15th China International Industry Fair Silver Medal”

BJTU National Engineering Laboratory of next generation Internet launched "Identification network system" project. This project was based on independent innovation, supported by 973 program, 863 program and National Science and Technology Plan. Through the past 10 years painstaking research, the identification network system with characteristics of “four types of identification” and “three times map” and core technologies have been invented. It has effective solutions to the problems of new type internet system and mechanism, which have magnificent influences on the development of internet related industry. The technological achievements have successfully converted into the industrial products in Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation (ZTE Corporation). From 2010 to 2012, it generated direct economic benefits of 139.5 million Yuan.

"Cryogenic big diameter magnetic liquid sealed device" invention patent solved the problems such as cryogenic, big diameter sealed in the industry applications. This designed sealing device have advantages of low leak rate, long life time, reliable, no pollution, static sealed, high speed sealed, low viscous friction, low starting torque and smooth operation etc. It has been widely applied in multiple fields and made massive economic and social benefits.
