NING Bin Attended the 15th Meeting of China-Russia Cooperation Committee on Education



On the afternoon of July 27, 2015, the 15th Meeting of China-Russia Cooperation Committee on Education was held in Beijing. The meeting was co-chaired by HAO Ping, China’s Deputy Minister of Education and Tretyak Natalya, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.



NING Bin was invited to attend the meeting and gave keynote speech on the collaboration between Chinese and Russian transport universities. First, he introduced the cooperation in terms of scientific research and talent cultivation between BJTU and Russian universities. He said the existing cooperation has laid solid foundations for the future cooperation. Then, he elaborated on the operation of the China-Russia Jiaotong Institute and China-Russia High-speed Railway Research Center as well as the preparations for the 2nd China-Russia Transport University Presidents’ Forum.



Representatives from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, China Scholarship Council, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation as well as Chinese and Russian universities were present at the meeting. The meeting spoke highly of the cooperative achievements both sides have made since the beginning of the 14th Meeting of China-Russia Cooperation Committee on Education. The participants held friendly discussions and reached consensuses on the gradual expansion of the scale of international students before 2020, expansion of the cooperation among Chinese and Russian universities, promotion of the universities alliances and respective languages as well as the organization of educational institutionalization programs between China and Russia, e.g. “National Year”, “Language Year”.

Principals from the Office of International Affairs were also present at the meeting.
