NING Bin Invited to Address the Meeting of Joint Commission for the Regular PMs' Meetings of China and Russia

From July 1 to 3, 2015, the 19th Meeting of Working Group on Railways of Transport Cooperation Subcommittee, Joint Commission for the Regular Prime Ministers' Meetings of China and Russia was held in Chengdu City. The meeting was co-sponsored by China National Railway Administration and Ministry of Transport of Russia.

NING Bin was invited to speak at the meeting on Sino-Russian collaborations of high-speed railway and transport universities. NING elaborated on the collaborations of scientific research and talent cultivation between BJTU and Russian counterparts. He said these have laid solid foundations for the future deeper cooperation. He also put forward some practical suggestions on the collaborations of transport universities and high-speed railway scientific research including project task, special fund and China-Russia Transport University Presidents’ Forum.

The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. LU Dongfu (Head of Working Group on Railways of Chinese side, Vice Minister of Ministry of Transport, Administrator of China National Railway Administration), along with principals from NRA, transport enterprises, local governments and universities. The Russian delegation was led by Zijnov, (Head of Working Group on Railways of Russian side, Vice Minister of Ministry of Transport, Russia), along with principals from the Ministry of Transport, Saint Petersburg State Transport University and railway corporations. Both sides conducted consultations and reached consensuses on 11 agenda items including railway port transport, cross-border transport, high-speed railway cooperation and transport universities cooperation between China and Russia.





During the meeting, President NING Bin also held talks with Alexander Y. Panychev, Rector of Saint Petersburg State Transport University, exchanging views on the construction and operation of Russia-China Jiaotong Institute and preparations for the 2nd China-Russia Transport University Presidents’ Forum.

Principals from the Office of General Administration and Office of International Affairs were also present at the meeting.
