BJTU Art Troupe Achieved Complete Success of Performances in Brazil



On April 20, 2015, 17 teachers and students from the BJTU Art Troupe departed for Brazil to put on performances for the Inauguration Ceremony of the Establishment of Confucius Institute between BJTU and the State University of Campinas. This visit was the 5th time of BJTU to undertake the performance task from the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) to celebrate the first Confucius Institute China has established with South American countries. Meanwhile, this visit helps to promote Chinese culture and enhance China-Brazil friendship.

On the morning of April 21, 2015, the Art Troupe arrived in Campinas and put on performances themed by “2015 BJTU Performance Tour in Brazil”. The programs included Chinese folk music “Jubilance”, “Dance of the Golden Snake”, “Dance of the Youth”, “Give Me a Rose”, Chinese dances “Blossom Peach after Rain”, “Knitting”, “Diabolos”, kongfu “Southern Fist”, Peking opera “The Dream of a Lady” and folk song “Girl of Daban Town”, etc. This kind of performance, involving audience interaction, helps to enhance Brazilian people’s understandings of Chinese culture and enhance China-Brazil friendship.





On the afternoon of April 22, 2015, the Art Troupe put on shows of Peking opera “The Dream of a Lady”, Chinese folk music “Give Me a Rose”, folk song “Girl of Daban Town”, folk dance “Diabolos” and interactions with the audience, which were greeted with warm applauses. After the performance, the audience also exchange views with the performers on Chinese folk instruments and culture.

This performance has achieved complete success. In the next few days, the Art Troupe will visit other Confucius Institutes in St. Paul and Rio de Janeiro and gave performances there.
