NING Bin Attended the “China-Japan University Fair & Forum in CHINA 2015” and Gave a Keynote Speech



On the afternoon of March 23, 2015, President NING Bin was invited to attend the “China-Japan University Fair & Forum in CHINA 2015” and gave a keynote speech at the Capital Hotel in Beijing.



In a presentation entitled “Industries-Oriented, Co-innovative Development— Road for Technological Universities”, NING Bin elaborated upon his views on university education. He said the university should rely on its strength discipline to tackle with key technological problems which restrict the development of the industry, value the exchange and cooperation with industries and enterprises to serve the industrial construction, cooperate with other universities, institutions and enterprises to promote technological innovation and explore the model of talents cultivation to drive the industry forward.

Representatives from the University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University, Kyushu University, Tohoku University and Tokyo Institute of Technology were also present at the seminar. They had lively discussions on the future difficulties and ways of cooperation and exchange as well as the excessive focus on ranking of some universities. NING pointed out that the development of universities should not take the raking as the aim but place emphasis upon the quality of talents cultivation as well as the level of faculty building, which was unanimously approved by all the participants.
